I use a mesa electra dyne. Best sounds I've heard from a 1x12 combo. My luke3 screams through it. I changed the 6l6s for el34s, made it tighter and more midpunchy. What do you all like for amps? Blues, classic rock, heavy rock stuff, ect.

Really digging the Mesa lone star for versatility at the moment. Great on its own for cleans, blues and rock tones. It accepts pedals really well too if you need some extra distortion for the heavier stuff :)

I'm completely satisfied with my Egnater Renegade 65. The tube mix knob allows you to blend as much or as litlle of the el84 or 6l6's.Great metal tones, or back of the gain just enough to fatten up for bluesy stuff as well, and anything in between:

My two main gigging amps are a Mesa Electra-Dyne and a new Mesa Express 5:50 PLUS - both are head versions. For a cab I use a Mesa vertical 2x12 Recto Cabinet with a C90 on the top and V30 on the bottom. I love the two gain voices on the Electra-Dyne but give the nod to the Express for overall clean tones.

lots of Mesas. I'll throw my Mark V in the mix.. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet. the first channel with its varying modes can fit that blues bill and make the listener very happy. Low gain on the channel two will do you very well for blues... It can do it all...

The Mesa Mini has a really good sounding pushed mode as well... and it's a rectifier... so.. rock - CHECK

In my little Bluesband: I have a mid 90s Crate Vintage Club 30 (VC3112). There's also a 50W 2x12" Version around. They sound great and go for little money used. It´s the one Mark Knopfler endorsed around his Golden Heart Recording/Tour.
Clean Channel is similar to a Fender amp, Gain Channel is more towards Marshall

In my Coverband: Laney LH50R, a cheap, sturdy, good sounding tubeamp with lots of power and balls who doesn´t mind to stand in a humid rehearsing-room all the time

I thing these days there are very few amps produced that are one trick ponies, it seems guitarists are a fussy bunch that want an amp that does everything, who would have thought eh?

I'll throw my Diezel D-Moll into the ring here. A three channel amp with channel 1 ranging from fender clean to a lovely soft break up when the gain kicks in, this would be the ideal blues tone but if you wanted to go a bit Robben Ford/Gary Moore then channel 2 gives you classic rock gain all the way up to heavy rock. Channel 3 would probably be too much for blues playing as it's got a lot of gain but at least you have the option.

I am still loving my Line 6 Duoverb. The fact its solid state modelling gets me shunned by many, but I get more compliments on my tone with this amp than any tube/valve amp I have owned in the past.

Marshall jvm combo and Mesa boogie dc 5 I switch back and forth between the two.
Also use a Yamaha dc 80 1x12 combo to practise with.

I had a blues jr nos for a while and liked it ok. For an inexpensive solution for now, I am using an Albion tc35. 6l6 tubes, designed by Steve Grindrod, it's pretty nice. I still plan to move up to a mesa in the future, both for my jp6 bfr and my sterling bass.

Anyone use an electra dyne? Do you prefer the stock 6l6 tubes, or switch for el34s?

I keep the 6L6's in mine, never tried the EL's....however the other guitarist in my band put EL's in his Electra-Dyne combo and said the tonal differences were minimal and probably not worth the expense unless it was time for a tube change anyhow...

There are so many cool options out there today. I would personally check out the Bogner Helios amps when they start arriving some time early this year. I have a Shiva that handles just anything I throw at it and it's closest to the sound I have in my head, means from smooth sounds and funk (channel 1) to over the edge classic rock (channel 2) with a low-mid range emphasis so the gainy sounds won't destroy the listeners' brains.

first tube amp I bought, mine was beige, I've regretted selling it ever since, had a fantastic sound, unfortunately if not taken care of the cheap components don;t last so they are hard to find in good condition. Orange Rocker 30 is a pretty close sounding amp with similar features.

I play an Orange Rockerverb 50 and 2x12/4x12 cabs I can get pretty well any sound I need. LOVE it!
