I have a few basses,Stingray 4,Stingray 5, bongo 4,setrling 4
i have fenders..jazz ,jazz special,p bass
and a few more, but this is just the best built bass ever.i never taught i would get used to playing a 5 string but now i just cant play anythin else.I am still going to buy a 25th HSS 5 string when they hit the Irish shore, because i gas for one.But this SR5 is just amazing, its set up to perfection the tone is outstanding,i love the colour,i love the white pick up cover.its heavy but i never even think of that.I play my other basses from time to time but i pick up my SR5 and it feels like home.it goes to every gig i play,i always bring the bongo as a back up but its normally the sr5 that get most of the show.
anyway i dont mean to sound like suck a$$ type but thank you Poppa for making just the most perfect bass in the world !!:D

very fine sandpaper and lots of time,it was fairly beat up when i got it so i took it back down to the wood.then some gun stock wax type stuff
play's much better than your thumb getting stuck on all thoses chips but i would still rather it was painted

I love these bass love stories. It really is a beautiful thing...especially in the time of all these new exiting models and insane new electronics packages and ebony fingerboards and all that. The StingRay5 really works for you and that's all it needs!

If it sounds and feels as good as it looks, you have a real keeper!

Hopefully you'll never have the need to sell it...

Nice stuff, thanks for sharing.

Anytime someone changes their forum photo to a specific bass, it must be one helluva product (as is mine).

Cool story ...and I agree.

My SR5 is my "take me into any situation and it'll be fine" bass. Don't know the backline? Bring the SR5...it'll sound good no matter what.

There is a black SR5 in the for sale thread that looks so good to me. NEver played one though.
