So, I am now in the market for a few cable replacements. I use a Mogami platinum right now, and for some reason, the connector as a tough time staying in the jack on my JP....I dont really know why. Anyhow, I've been looking around a lot on the Lava Cable website. Is there a way to get TRS-TRS with right angle plugs? What brands that you guys have used has sounded the best? Any tips hints and advice is much appreciated!

That's odd. I use only Mogami Gold cables and they work perfectly with my MM guitars. Both the Platinum and the Gold use Neutrik connectors.

Can't you compress the jack retainer spring to make a tighter grip?

I use Cordial cables, but dunno whether they're even available in the US. The most important thing I guess are good plugs. My cables all feature genuine NEUTRIK plugs, their new "Silent" plug is on all cables that get attached to the instruments.
Fits perfectly on all my Balls...

yeah, its weird to me, because every other cable I use with neutrik connectors, mogami golds and even an evidence audio I've had forever fit just fine and dont move around at all. It's just the silent circuit connector that seems like it wants to just "pop" out all the time. Candid, how do you compress the spring? I want to stick with these silent circuit cables so badly...I just dont want a cable that will pop out during a gig or something...

Not sure about the JP input jack, but on most you can tighten or loosen the tension on the leaf type spring that holds the male end of a 1/4" jack in place. Some are sealed, however.

I think there's some confusion about what you're calling the "silent circuit". JP has no silent circuit. Those are in MM single coil guitars to cancel hum. I'm wondering if you may be dealing with Piezo double input jack on your JP? If not, sorry, I have no idea what's going on with it. I've never heard of a "silent circuit" cable.

I suggest you give customer service a ring or email. I'm sure they will do what they can, if it's a guitar issue.

no no no....the silent circuit jacks on the mogami platinum cables, by neutrik. the red ones. theres a special spring loaded ring on the cables that cut off the circuit when you unplug the cable...

Planet Waves makes a Circuit Breaker cable somewhat similar to that. It has a kill switch on the right angle plug, so you can kill the signal before you unplug. Don't think it comes in a stereo or TRS setup.

I had to return my Planet Waves circuit breaker cable 3 times! The cable kept crapping out on me. It was very frustrating, especially in a live setting. I've been using Monster cables but I'm going to be switching to Mogami soon... best sounding cables I've used so far.

I might be a little biased ... but we've totally re-vamped our cable line. They are much more high-end. You guys should give 'em a shot. They're pretty sick.

Ah!

That could be where the problem is, for sure. If the others all work, what else could it be? Pretty surprising, coming from Mogami.

I'm of the less is more school... one more mechanical somethingorother to malfunction. I'll run the cord through the strap and call it good.

Please let us know what it turns out to be.

Thanks, Jodi. I wasn't even aware of these.

I haven't been able to locate more information on those EB cables.
