Being new to MM basses, I'm wondering about the string gauge ... my SBMM Ray34 came with 045/065/080/100 on it, which is fine, although I always used 085/105 A and E strings in the past. I'll stick with the slightly lighter gauge, but wondering if there is a preferred gauge...and is the MM very adaptable to change in gauges? This bass seems to be designed really well for slapping, which I love ...does anyone find lighter is better for slap on the MM or not such an issue?

I like the OEM Slinkies that the basses come with from the factory. Boost the treble and bass knobs about 50%, flat the mids and you get the snappy highs and tight lows that you hear on Aeroplane.
