Best way to adjust action on JPX

Hi everyone,

as the name states really, the action on my JPX seems a lot higher than on my mystic dream. What is the best way to adjust this ? (I'm not much of a techie )

Also the bridge seems to be slanting towards the next slightly, am i right in thinking you must take off the back plate and adjust the springs in order to rectify this?

Any help would be hugely appreciated, especially as i have some upcomming shows with the band!

Use the truss wheel at the base of the neck - where it meets the body. Small turns (hole position to hole position) and test after each until it gets to where you want it. Good luck!

The truss rod wheel is the best way to adjust the action. Make sure the bridge plate is flush with the body from side to side and front to back. You'll adjust the bridge at the trem posts and the spring claw in the back. It can take a little time to set it up the way you like it. Since its a floating bridge, you have to make sure to tune it after every little adjustment you make or you'll go nuts trying to set it up.

Devin, it's nothing to be afraid of or intimidated by. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I believe every musician should be able to setup their instrument to the way they like it and EBMM has made it extremely easy to do so with the truss rod wheel. The internet is a beautiful thing. It's a wealth of knowledge. There are many guides and instructions on how to setup a guitar. How adjusting one thing can effect the other. The only way to learn how to do it is just read about it and then dive right in and start making adjustments. If you run into any problems, you can always contact customer service or ask an open question here on this forum.

Agree with defender.

I´ve always considered myself an ignorant as far as setting up the guitar goes, and I´m way to paralyzed by fear to attempt any fixes on my babes, besides cleaning them and changing strings.

But learning how to do it is critical to avoid being ripped off by some tech, and to give your babes the care they deserve.

It is not nuclear science, and the worst thing one can do is not start.

After all, guitars are just (very nice) pieces of wood. Be careful with the force and you´ll be OK.

As a general rule on any of my guitars I tend just to mess around with things until I get it right, but on my JPX7, I find the bridge posts work well, though I've never adjusted the wheel as it came set up fabulously. I'd listen to the other guys, though, as they seem to know what they're talking about.
