I want to raise the pickup height on my Petrucci. I've heard that adding washers to the bottom of the pickups is the best way to go. Has anyone done this to their Petrucci or other EBMM?

Does anyone know the approximate size of the washers I should use?

Should I use metal or plastic washers?

Any other suggestions on how to raise the pickup height are welcome. Thanks.

I'd use metal ones....you could also make a shim that lays under the pickup. OR you could lower the bridge and then tweak out your action. I've noticed that the stock pups have a sweet spot that's pretty much optimized out of the factory, the DG I have sounds the best, but the others I 've been able to get close by dropping the bridge some and adjusting the action. My MD I had to drop the bridge like 1/8 of an inch. Dude had it setup way high.
