So, I made a NGD thread a month and something back about my new BFR Cutlass in Magic Blue.
After an adjustment period I've really grown to like this guitar very much.
The biggest adjustment for me were the pickups. I had to change how I adjust my amp, and my captor x cabs, but the sound I'm getting now is awesome, and I can really appreciate the fact that the lower output pickups let me crank the whole amp a bit more, compared to my EVH Wolfgang.
I basically get the sound into a hard rock territory with the amp, and then boost it with an EQ pedal to get into higher gain. Pedal off and volume down/pickup change is my clean and it sounds great because of the buffering in the guitar.

I'm still waiting for a new case for the guitar, as the one it arrived in got broken on the way...

The only minor gripe is with the aesthetic. More specifically with the neck, and how it got oriented during the build. It has a very nice flame on it, however, it disappears when you look at it from the playing position. If you would flip the guitar upside down and have the lower part of the neck up, it shows nicely. That plus a thick mineral strain in the top side of the neck really make we wonder why that piece of wood wasn't turned upside down, as the bottom is much prettier. Would've thought that it being BFR, somebody would be paying attention to things like this.
Oh well, at least the fretboard looks nice from the playing position.

Other than that, the guitar is really great. I am a new convert to this V shape. Really fits my hands and playing style perfectly.

Cheers

Hehe, I've put some in the original thread, but I guess it won't hurt to share again.

The neck photos were taken from the best angle where you can really see the flame. As I said, it's unfortunate that they don't look like this from the playing position. If you played the guitar lefty style you would be seeing the grain though. :)
The fretboard flame is visible from the normal angles though.

Trim those strings before you put your eye out:ROFLMAO:
Haha, those are long gone. I just keep them for a day or so in case I didn't tighten the tuner lock enough an the string slips. These photos were just after restringing, so that's why they're there.

Is that a satin finish?
The spec say the body is matte finish. Slightly different than satin which is on neck and has a bit of sheen on it, whereas the body has no sheen at all. It looks totally flat. Pretty cool in person, since the paint underneath does seem to be metallic, as you can see some "roughness" in it.

Here's a photo I just made with a macro lens that shows nicely how it appears when you take a closer look at it. I guess that's why they call it Blue Magic, and not just matte blue. :)
