BFR Petrucci Question

I noticed on my BFR Petrucci the pickup output seems to be a little less than my regular one. Has anyone else noticed this? In other words, using the same setup, when I plug in the BFR I seem to have a little less "drive" to the sound. It doesn't get the same response as the regular one. Both with the volume all the way up and exact same settings. I find myself actually using my ultra channel to get the extra oomph I used to get with the crunch channel. Just curious. It could also be woods and changes made to this model.
