Just saw Coffee mug's AL - Killer, but it got me thinking.....

Are the rosewood neck'd guitars/NON-premium topped guitars cheaper than their flame/quilt counter-parts?? - if so buy how much - that could make getting more BFR's an option!

I'd ask my local dealer but they struggle to comprehend anything more than a pack of slinky's (Mom & Pop store with no desire to expand!)

Smelly, the only way to pick flame or quilt on a model with a BFR rosewood neck was if you could normally choose flame or quilt, and that is on the regular BFR offerings. There is no longer a premium top option on any of the standard production models.

Easy answer: No difference in price other than the rosewood neck option - you simply can't select premium tops on regular instruments.

Example:
y2d list price $2575
y2d w/ BFR rosewood neck list $2875
(you get flame or quilt either way, no personal selection available)

BFR AL flame list $3500
BFR AL flame top, rosewood neck list $3800
BFR AL quilt list $37500
BFR AL quilt top, rosewood neck list $4050

Sorry Pete, I've maybe explained myself wrong, - I saw a BFR AL in suburst with MM90's and no premium top in this thread....

I just wondered if becuase that didn't have a premium top (that i can see) - then perhaps it would be cheaper than the regular ones.... I'm about $600 short for another BFR, and if the non-premium topped ones were cheaper I could order!

I already have one with a killer flame so it's not a deal breaker for me.... hope that explains where I was coming from better...

Isn't it just a BFR because of the Rosewood neck? I didn't think they had the maple caps, so it's just the normal body finish.

Smelly, the rosewood neck guitars are BFR's due to having an all rosewood neck, plain and simple, as BP has said a BFR can be anything EBMM puts out thats not standard, the 25th is not a BFR, which means to me it will become a production model next year.

Plain and simple Pete stated list price not dealer price, what BFR are you thinking of buying that your short on and will make this easier.

You pay that much and you don't have a choice of tops?!

damn, is no one reading or thinking, LIST MAN LIST, not retail, and the only ones you can chose the top on are the original BFR's, and the 25th, not that difficult people:)

OH GOD ! - WHAT HAVE I DONE.....

Right Here's where I'm at....

I could order any BFR (Some may have a premium top, some may not) but the list price would be the same - except if I wanted a rosewood neck as the LIST would be a little higher

Some BFR's come with a premium top, and some do not.

Is this correct?

It seems like a bit of a mute point now because the window for RW necks is closed but here is my understanding of the entire situation..

Here in Australia:

Standard
ALBERT LEE 3 Seymour Duncan or MM90, Standard bridge RRP $4,195.00

BFR
ALBERT LEE, Standard bridge and Flame Top RRP $6,995.00

BFR
ALBERT LEE, Standard bridge and Quilt Top RRP $7,495.00

From memory, the Rosewood neck upgrade was an additional RRP $600.

My understanding:
The rosewood neck upgrade could be added to a standard Al, a BFR Flame Top or a BFR Quilt Top and the price would just increase accordingly. So while that order window was open, you just picked the model you wanted, added $600 and you got it with RW neck. BAM
