May sound silly, but I am really happy that there are no equivalent BFR StingRay models available. Those tops would suck my finances...

Yes I would. But I won't consider putting down several thousand dollars on a bass I definitely won't play. I had my time with the Sterling in the early 90's. That time is over. So, the StingRay is the only EBMM model currently appealing to me. BUT it is great to have choice!
