you guys had me at mahogany body.
I really need to get a 3rd job.
If I can make it to the end of the year without 3 new Musicman basses I will be surprised.

2. It is the best pickup we have made to date. It is the H out of the 25th...ceramic magnets would to stingray specs on bongo bobbins

...and to me this proved to be really the case.

I do have the Big Al 5 H for about a month now and I have to admit that this pickup in combination with the mahogany / ebony does get the classic Stingray tones (on steroids) as well as the warmth of the Bongo. To me it is the most "mature" sounding bass of my current EBMM collection. It shows it's strength in the band mix more than on the couch, but this is what it is made for.

I am bringing this up again because I got the feeling that there is a lot of good love for the SSS (and it deserves this in his own right) here by now, but not so much for the single H.

So take this as a reminder...

I ordered my BA5-H last year based on BP's statment above and have had not regrets. The only other configuration I would consider would be a BA5-HSS. Now that would be killer!
