Just a point of curiosity, and apologies if the information is already in the forums, but apparently can't search for Big Al as the words are too short!
I've recently picked up a Big Al 4 H to add to the stable with the Stingrays, great bass. Admittedly, was really drawn in by the shape, but it plays like a dream and sounds great!
In the specs for the Big Al H, it notes a ceramic pickup. Electronically, is it basically a Sterling H pickup and a Bongo 4 band preamp (with some extra switching)?
Unfortunately this has not helped quell my want for a Big Al SSS!
