My band is finally doing professional recordings of our songs, and this weekend past we got our drum tracks/scratch tracks down. What an amazing time we had: the studio was in a little community out on the water, facing off into the Atlantic, and the sun set past this little island with the light entering right into the main room.

Most importantly, the engineer really liked the Big Al and the possibilities. I ran it active/parallel and flat first, but then added some bass and low mids, and dialed back the high mids. Perfect tone for improvisational hard rock (with a bit of prog influence). Later I kicked it into passive/parallel for some acoustic-based tunes, and tweaked the tone knob for certain sections. Overall, we were all VERY pleased. :)

Finally, I was apprehensive of buying a Maple-fingerboard bass, as I've always been more fond of rosewood. But I have crossed over and not looked back. EBMM, you scored another big hit with this instrument.

Obligatory pictures:

Naturally, I'll post some audio clips once we get our good takes exported.

Cheers,
Chris
