That does look fabulous. Obviously you have excellent taste. But I thought there was a rule that you had to use blue toothpicks. Or is that just for straplocks?

Yeah, but it will ride up with wear...
I like them, and nothing like using them excessively to loosen them up.

So the screws stay threaded in wood. It is an easy repair. I do it all the time when I change mine out except I use the ends of a wooden cotton swab.

I get that, such as when screw holes are worn, eg. strap pins, but unless the pickguard screws have been taken out and retightened many times I'm curious as to why the screw holes would be stripped? I've swapped a few pickguards on EBMM basses and have never found any of the holes to be stripped. Am I missing something obvious with this question?

Same for me. I've swapped pickguards about 4 times on one of my Rays, and never had a wood/screw thread stripping problem. I just make sure the screws go back into the same holes and all is well. Can't imagine the need to toothpick every hole after pickguard swapping, unless there is a specific issue that arises which requires attention.

The holes were a bit stripped, so I figured I would toothpick them. The TPs were out anyways for the holes for the new straplocks. I always fill the holes when adding straplocks.
