This is my bass really, Daddy's only borrowing it until I'm big enough..

Wow! This is a fabulous bass!

It was a christmas present from my lovely fiance

We decided that, with Beatrice coming along last year, it was the last opportunity to buy extravagant gifts for each other. I'm a really lucky bloke and probably don't deserve someone as great as her.

Anyway, two questions for you Bass playing types.

1) How do you play these things?

2) What are all the d4mn nobs for?

:D

wow, lucky you, you got awesome case candy, mine just came with a packet of not really good tasting candy and a yellow cloth thing,

keep it a secret but from what i've heard, if you point the headstock at someone you dont like, u twist the knobs, they levitate and then their head explodes.. shhhh

Damn man! I dont know whether I wanna play with the baby first, or the bass! One is tooo cute, and the other is too HAWT!! Tickle her feet from me, will ya?

As for your questions (that nobody ws willing to answer):

Ans 1: How do we play these things? Well u dont need to know that. What you need to figure out is how YOU're gonna play that thing! Spend some time with it, u'll catch up. Its not very difficult, really! EBMM made sure its not!

Ans 2: http://www.music-man.com/pdf's/Bongo.zip

Have fun! Good luck with the Bongo-ing! :)

always cool to see family pictures :)

as for the bongo, you got the dual pickup version and piezo, hence you got the 4 band eq.

short version would be:

1. dont dime the volume. the 18volt preamp can make any preamp clip. start around halfways and experiment from there
2. the eq is as follows: rear knobs consists of bass and treble (treble on the smallest of em)
the next one is high mid and low mid (high mid on the smallest of em)
3. the volume section is a s follows: the single knob is volume, the next double knob is balance, the smallest of them regulates balance between piezo and magnetic pickupsystems, and the big one balances between the single coil and the humbucking pickup
4. also dont dime the eq knobs.. only add a little twist of em if needed. putting everything on max will only give you problems. start flat on both amp and bass. then close your eyes and listen to what happens when you turn the knobs ;)

Thanks for the info and diagrams. I'm a skinny string player, so I'm just hacking my way around so far, but what a great bass this is.

Need to get myself an amplifier now, so that B can make lots of noise!!!

By the way, Club Bongo is open for business Join here
