birdeyemapleneck - plainmapleneck ?

hi guys,
maybe you had that question already but i didnt find anything searching the forum.
so heres my question:
is there a tonal difference between those two necktypes. birdseye and plainmaple? not the feel or looking difference. only the tonal difference.
just curious and heres tha right place to post cause MM has both in use.

wouldnt have thought it was a big difference, you would need to have played the same guitar with both different necks, my black ASS is nuts birdseye, and my honeyburst ASS is plainish, i think the black one sounds and plays amazing.

I doubt if you'd be able to generalize the effect that birdseye in the neck has on the overall sound. I myself have never noticed it.

That said, there's a complex interaction between all the components of the guitar- different woods, bridge, nut, dampening of the strings by magnetic field, etc. So who knows.

my purple EVH has no birdseye and it still sounds great and still plays great too!!!
