Ever since I saw the bird's eye maple neck on the Classic Sting Ray (Tobacco burst). I'm in love.........it's my all time favorite, no two are alike and it's a piece of art! I wish they would have done my earthwood neck in bird's eye maple. Does anyone else feel the same way or am I alone in this fetish lol?

Chime in lets hear what you have to say about the Bird's eye, or what your idea of a favorite neck material.

I love those necks. The neck on my 30th Anniversary Stingray is a gorgeous piece of birds eye maple with a trans red stain, and my fretless Sterling also has a beautiful birds eye neck.

Once I had a bass with flamed neck and bird's eye board. But it was a different brand. Yes, I do admit that I had/have basses of other brands. But I play my Rays...

Totally in love with the birdseye!!! My next bass is going to be the Classic 4 Ray with birdseye and maple FB.

Never liked maple boards until I tried the music man rendition. Though my Big Al isn't glossy, it feels and plays great and totally converted me on the spot, not only to maple boards but also away from F*#&*r. Then I found a classic and fell in love all over again. The glossy neck feels so amazing, and the aesthetic of the birdseye is astonishing. Very beautiful works of art!!!
