picccccccccccccccccs!

Congrats - I like the pickups in the Silo for more vintage/non modern sounds. Not that edgy, and are they smooth! (thats IMHO, of course - It could just be all the wax in my ears)

hmmm.....so in your opinion the silo (not spec) with the PAF's still has a vintage sound to it.....thats good to hear... my strat is not getting along well with my new amp in the bridge position, so I'm hoping the HSH combo will help. My amp loves my LPcustom, I'm just not all that comfy with the lpcustom neck.... plus I need that vintage strat sound a bit, I'm auditioning for a Lynyrd Skynryd Tribute band sometime this weel...lol... should be fun, they played for 3k people last week at a gig......
oh, It was the blue one with the redpearl pickguard up on the bay....someone made a post about it last week but I'll take some new pics when I get it this week...the silo spec I really wanted slipped away from me with 4 seconds to go several days earlier

its nice, kinda feel like maybe I paid too much....tell me I didnt..lol

I couldn't tell you. I don't know what the typical US pricing is.
I do know he let it go for less than he wanted for it being supposedly brand new.
I spoke with him at the beginning of the auction. He said he wanted $950 and he'd call off the auction.
It's beautiful though!

You tried adjusting pickup height on your strat, right?

yep I lowered it and raised it, dunno why this amp does like my single pickup in my strat.....its a blue lace and sounds good in my other amp...I get this weird ghost tones with it on certain notes and its very thin sounding....doesnt happen with my LP.....its frustrating...

Neastguy, you do know the Silo is a 24 fret guitar right? Still, with the HSH config positions 2 and 4 should give you some decent quack. Enough to cover Skynard would be my guess. I didn't know there was a Skynard cover band around here. I'll have to see you guys. Especially if you land the gig.

is the silo spec a 22 fret? also, does it :( play any diff having the extra frets? , I really liked the silo spec and axis neck..... the band's name is Vicious Cycle... we will see what happens, havent scheduled an audition yet, plus I'm still in the other band, but we cant seem to find a drummer, and were all starting to get bummed.....

Yep the special is 22 (or is it 21? memory fades...). Actually, they play very different. Personally I prefer the Silo over the Special. My first Ernie ball was a Silo before the specials came out. I had 4 or 5 of them actually before the specials came out. I loved the things.

Silo Spec is 22 fret !

The neck single coil is really impressive if the fender vintage neck tone is your thing (SRV, Hendrix). I have never played an HSH Silo.
