Had a chance today to take a couple of pictures of my white Bongo and Big Al. I just got a new b/w/b pickguard for the Big Al, so I thought it'd be a good idea to take a couple of duo shots.

The weather has started to turn a bit nasty before I had a chance to swap out the pickguards for tort on both, but I'll take some when I have an opportunity.

Love Great White EBMMs... :)

that bongo looks sweet with the black headstock... nice pair!

While I agree about the headstock, there is a chance it won't be black too much longer. If it was black-black, it would be one thing, but it's sapphire black and it has lots of nicks in the finish. So, we'll see what happens with the headstock in the near future...

also interesting is the slight variation in brightness in the white between bongo and al. Al's a lot brighter.

and also #2, love the wood color on that blank plank. almost has a cherry look to it.

Speaking of appearance modding, would it be possible to get a reverse headstock Music Man bass by swapping the neck of a right-handed bass for the neck of a left-handed bass and change the nut?

The neck pockets aren't like Fenders--they are asymmetrical. So, there is a definite way they are designed and shaped to fit. It might be technically "possible*," but it wouldn't be pretty.

* I said "might."

The Bongo has turned more creamy over the years. When I got it, it was as white as the Big Al. Interestingly enough--the neck has NOT gotten any darker over the years. That's one of the reasons I've done something....drastic with the white neck. :D

Gorgeous basses, bro. I think they are both stunning.

I'm looking to get a white SR 4HH with Rosewood FB AND a black PG. Anyone have one they'd like to sell or trade, let me know.
