The Black Country Communion (featuring Joe Bonnamassa) just came out this week. It is an oustanding blues based hard rock album. Joe lays down some incredible lead and rhythm guitar work. Also, Glen Hughes voice is very powerful, it fits the music so well. The only one issue I would have is dammit you have Derek Shrehenien playing a Hammond, give him some solos too.

Joe also gives EB/MM some credit in the CD (he wears an EB hat in many of the photos) and indicates he played a Steve Morse and a custom double neck MM guitar on the album.

Definitely pick up this CD or download it or whatever. WE NEED MORE MUSIC LIKE THIS!

I like it too. It's got a 70's hard rock vibe to it. More keys would be nice, but he fills out the sound with the hammond, more of a supporting role.

Waiting to get my copy this week as they had a little delay due to the fact their was a band named Black Country, so they added the Communion which I like better. Real nice interviews in this months Guitarist Magazine with Joe and Glenn. The cuts I heard sometime back are right up my ally.

Also a nice sidebar -The Man,The Music-The Music Man where Joe talks about his Balls, as he owns some 25ths, Y2Ds, Double Necks, Lukes and an ALs.

Glenn is a Bad Ass Mo Fo indeed. This CD kicks so much ass, I can't stop listening to it.

(Actually, I have been playing the new Tom Petty & Heartbreaker's CD 'Mojo' alot too. It's really good.)

I went to the BCC concert at the Grove of Anaheim last night. Great show as expected. They played alot of stuff from their upcoming album.... I will have to pick that one up for sure.

Bonamassa is of course a monster player - such killer leads and tones, perfect for this type of band. OK so he is definitely a Gibson guy for the most part, but he did play two EBMM guitars on two different songs. One was an awesome looking double neck 12 string/ 6 string he played on one of the new songs (he sang lead on that one). He only used the 12 string portion for the song, but it sounded great. If I am not mistaken the double neck looked like a Morse. For the first encore he played the custom Morse with the reverse headstock - killer looking & sounding guitar.

Definitely see these guys if they are in your neighborhood - their encore song was Burn, that was worth the price of admission right there! As I said before, we need more music like this now more than ever!

Great to hear you had a blast at the BCC concert...I bet they're outstanding live!
Speaking for Germany the new BCC album is no longer upcoming...in fact it came out yesterday and it is absolutely awesome! Unbelievable musicianship, especially the vocals are fantastic! What a great band. Joe played two EBMM instruments on this one and can be seen playin' a Y2D on one of the photos...had to take a five hour drive today and had BCC2 on heavy rotation, it was perfect.

Paranoid totally agree with you and hope this album finds its way into the hands of a lot of younger players as this is the style music most of us grew up on and if things go full circle maybe others will pick up on the vibe and we will have a lot more of this. I am kind of surprised he only played ywo EB guitars ,as I read an interview with him on the making of the second album in which he stated he used just 4 guitars 2 EB's and 2 Gibsons and he finds the EB's suit this music better than his solo stuff.

Here is a cool pic of Bonamassa's sweet looking double neck MM guitar. (Is it a Petrucci?)

Man that guy has an awesome collection of MM and Gibson guitars.
