I came across and played 2 mint condition EVH's in trans black. One was a quilt, the other a flame.
The only problem was that they were close to $4K each...
Is that the going rate nowadays????
Just curious....
Oh, and they were by far, the cheapest guitars in the shop....which is scary in itself...
Also played a $500K 59 LP burst...

depends on the condition, year, top, neck, color/fade, ect....can you get pics?

I can probably get pics tomorrow.
They are both mint with no fading at all. The tops are very good. Not AAAAA, but very nice. They both have original cases etc, and I think they are from the same year.
I'll find out more tomorrow and see if I can drop by and take pics of them.
It was just very cool to see a pair of twins like that, one quilt and one flame in the same color.
Both played like butter also.
If I had $8000, I'd grab them.
He also had a gold top one that belonged to EVH, but it wasn't for sale....:(

if they are still black...that is good

a serial # w/ 80XXX or 81XXX would be nice...indicates early production

the deeper/bigger the quilt, the more defined the flame, the better

IMO, $4000 is high, but to all their own! i paid $4000 for a pink quilt, but that was only 1 of 200 EVHs

that gold top, if documented, is a $10000+ guitar, easy!!!
