Black Onyx question

OK so I got this Idea for another custom bass to work on. Im considering making a Jazz bass version of a Sterling Black onyx. So all black hardware and paint, but just one tiny question. Does the black onyx have a glossy black pickguard to match the paint or is it a standard flat black one like on all the other MM basses? thanks alot
