Hey y’all. Was wondering where I can find some blank pick guards for my sterling Stingray5 HH? Trying to do a custom paint on it and I would usually buy the cheapos that are usually online but I did an upgrade to the pots and instead of 3 knobs and an input jack I now have 5 knobs and an input, and they don’t sell any models like that, so I need to find a blank, not drilled into, pick guard. Any info helps🙏

Cant recall the names but Ive bought PGs from custom PG shops online. You could order them undrilled, or if you send them a template they will drill them for you, to fit your modifications.

Custom PGs also provide an alternative to painting on the top surface. A clear PG allows you to paint on paper or some other substrate and put your painting under the PG. You cant do watercolors directly on plastic, and you cant feed a PG thru an inkjet printer.

Find a photo online of a real live tortoise shell and print it on paper, trim it to the PG shape, frame it under a clear PG and youve got a unique version of the classic "tortoise shell" PG.

Another approach is to paint the under side of a clear PG. If you do that, I suggest a barrier sheet between your paint and the paint on the body. Bakers parchment paper would seem a good choice for that.

Heres some stuff I found via google:

I put a pickguard from Pickguardplanet (a.k.a. Pickguard Heaven or Chandlers) on my SBMM Short Scale. It took some careful filing to get it to fit. Not sure the pickguard screw holes lined up either. In my case, the EBMM pickguard was slightly too big in some places. If it was too small though, might not have worked.

Do send them an email or call. As I recall, their customer service is pretty good and I think they'll do some level of custom order.
