Wow. What would it be like if was still with EB, fantasy

I couldn't agree less! Have you seen him play recently? It's embarrassing. I know 15 year olds that can play Van Halen better than EVH can now.

I was one of his biggest fans and supporters for years, but now he needs to just quietly fade away.

I don't need to see this any more...

Here we go again:
a) someone starts an EVH related thread
b) a couple of people innocently respond
c) a few people start getting malicious or vendictive
d) BP chimes in and says "stop living in the past"
e) some peolple defend Ed
f) go back to c)
g) lock the thread

...............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

Jazzbo....you are a genius.....I was in the cart with him that day

The only thing I can add is that it is sad to watch and listen to what has become of the man. To diehards like yourself it must be really hard.

It's terrible BP. He inspired me (and probably most of us as teenagers in the 80's) to pick up the guitar. His guitar design brought me to EBMM and helped me decide to change my collection over from largely USA Jacksons to EVH EBMM's. He was THE influence to me. I can't pick up the guitar and not play a VH riff or song.

For a while we heard nothing from him...then the divorce...and now, all the fans get is a snipit of him in a chemically enhanced stupor hanging with skanks and hacking around on a terrible guitar equipped with a Sustainer, which he uses way too much to hide his inability (IMO).

Randy Rhoads is forever young in our minds because he was taken from us at such a young age. Even though I try to think of EVH ruling the world around 1984, I can't. I think of the troll we see in the recent youtube stuff, and it's depressing.

As a young lad i was truly inspired by the playing of a few people first and formost my uncle and then by EVH..
The only reason i play today is because of those two people... I had the opportunity to get to share a once in a life time opportunity with my uncle. After I graduated high school my uncle and i got to go see and meet Eddie and remember him being just an incredibly gifted musician... and then i see this and it saddens me to see him slipping away from it all. He's lost it... he's lost the groove... and it looks like he's given up on everthing...

Wow! I could have gone forever without seeing this video!

I always regret not seeing the original VH lineup. Saw em with Sammy though.
The video is chilling to watch. Your seeing a man destroy himself. :(

Eddie's one of my favorites and always will be. Everybody is nostalgic for his days with David Lee Roth. But, Van Halens work with Sammy was very good too. And I don't care what anyone says, I enjoyed their work with Gary Cherone as well.:D

It's a bloody shame when the "Bottle" gets a hold of someone. It robs you of your talent.

that may have been the Tj martell tourney with a bunch of ringers from slo and EVH ( I had a hole in one that day) or it was the next years one with Tommy Lee, Luke, Evh and me.....We stunk but it was a really fun time...I have some detailed photos that are probably worth thousands! what goes on the road.....
