Came yesterday and I played it for a couple hours last night getting ready for a gig tonight. Initial impression is quite good. So many tones available from this monster. I ran through about 40 country songs and never needed a tone that I couldnt get out of this bass. Ive lusted after a 20th SR5 for a long time and it finally worked out for me. These are special basses. Cant wait for my gig tonight. More later....(the pics dont show just how sexy this bass is in person).

Gig report from Saturday night.

WOW. Talk about a bass that sits in a mix. Everything I want and need from a bass, this 20th has AND then some. Everyone in the band flipped when they saw it, and really flipped when they heard it.

I spoke with another bassist during a set break and he knew some of the tunes in our next set. I asked him to sit in, and he played a couple songs. I got to hear the bass in the house PA and it was otherworldly, straight up. It was really amazing. Great round low end, and the midrange punch was great.

This really is a special bass, that may have to be considered a keeper.

Definately a keeper! BTW, what switch setting did you find most appealing for the gig? Flat-out bridge 'bucker, or other... (I've taken a liking to positions 1 & 2 on mine) :)

Keep it, Travis. Really, seriously keep it. I know between the two of us and Andrew, we've owned most of the Stingray 5s on earth, but my 20th is going nowhere.

The mahogany tone block sort of gives it this John Holmes swagger.

Golly gee...I may have to check your band out while I'm in Columbus on business sometime. I travel down there about 4-5 times during the fall. Smokin' bass! Enjoy!
