I'm listening to the songs now, nice job. What did you use to record? How did you record the Bass? Any other details you can share?

Thanks Colin,
ya, my signal chain was: either fretted SR5 or fretted Bongo5 into an Avalon U5 then into ProTools. there is some fretless but that was done with my now sold Mollerup fretless5 all the rest was strictly EBMM! :D and i made all of the loops with the program Reason. the only instruments are basses and drum loops too.
Like I said, I'll try to get some actual samples up from the CD soon.

Mmm That's some Good Groovin Psy!:D:D

I really like that man. Compliments on the fretless and mucho compliments on the arrangement. It's all really tight. And Man, I love the way EBMM basses sound recorded:D

Though, being a fellow recorder as I'm sure many on here are, I'd love to here how the process was and all things of that nature.

Thanks for all of the great feedback guys!!
ahh, recording...hmm, well I tried not to "comp" too much but there definitely were parts that I just took the best 4-8-16 bar stretch and looped it BUT all in all it's fairly non-comped. Especially the melodies, most of those are first takes and just a 'stream of conciousness' hence the frequently going out of key then back in approcah to my melodies :D
I started off usually with a kooky loop that inspired a groove then just went from there. Most of the chording is a couple of basses doing double stops and to be honest, I can't even decipher half of what I did harmonically, it sounded good to me so I went with it!
anywho, my buddy Jon did a great job of taking sometimes up to 5 basses all in the same eq range and carving it out so there is some sense of a stereo landscape.
all in all it really was a project that i just had to get done.
trust me, if I could do this...any of us can!! :D
again thanks for checking it out guys!!!!
