This has always been my problem for the very reason that the Bongo 5 is unusually longer in overall length from strap button to tip of the headstock than any ordinary bass. I almost bought a Mono M80 gig bag but then when I tried to fit my Bongo, there's about 2 inches of the headstock coming out.

For Bongo 5 users what gig bag are you guys using? Suggestion please...

I swear by my IGig single bag! I prefer the MONO double bag because it is not quite as bulky and I think the 2 zippers works for me better than the single approach. The iGig is a Killer bag and you should have no problem fitting a Bongo. I would send Miko an email and ask to be certain. You will be very surprised at what you can get inside the iGig...it holds a LOT of stuff and offers very good protection for your bass.

Peace,

T

Thanks for the reply. Where can I get these iGig bags? Any stores in particular that carries this brand?

Sorry! Should have included that! Go to iGIG Cases you van check them out there or also at mikobass.com. Great Guy to deal with...miko is a stand up Guy in every way. I have a 525 Single and a 515 double. If you need a lot of storage space either will work but the 515 will give you more storage. The 525 is more form fitting and a but less bulky. For the single I would suggest the 525. I was lucky enough to get one of only 5 red ones ever made but the black is very nice as well! I have had just about every bag on the market including Sadowsky, levy's, Mooradian, Itasca, etc...and the iGig single is the best single and the MONO double is the best double. I gig or do studio dates about 250 days or so a year and so far the iGig has served me well for over a year of heavy use. My MONO double is about 8 months it so old and I have never had a problem with either. I can't recommend them enough. They are both fairly expensive but well worth the price! Good luck!

Peace,

T

here's a couple of shots of the one I've been using, although it's pretty difficult to actually fit a bass in it...:D

With double gig bags as with any luggage, the more zippers the more possible failure points (this is gospel for backpackers and most everyone who has to lug heavy objects on their shoulders). I prefer single zipper doubles for this reason.

Ok.... this "what case for my Bongo 5" seems to pop up every now and then.

I have what I think is the ultimate, it's sturdy, spacious, has great size pockets, and even a back stand that comes out from an hidden zipped panel on the back, here it is:
