I'm thinking about making the big leap to a Bongo 6 --- will any owners tell me about their instruments, or refer me to a thread that is already going.
thanks

Have you checked out Ed Friedland's video review? I don't own one, but I really, really want one.

I'm playing an HS Bongo 6 right now and I absolutely love it. The tone is amazing and the 18-volt preamp is very versatile. The fretboard and the bass itself is smaller than it appears and is very manageable and comfortable. If you're looking into getting a 6 string, you can't beat the Bongo.

Ditto - except mine is an HH. Being mostly a 4 string player - I actually find the 6 easier to play than a 5er.

Great tone - awesome neck.

I feel the same way. I like playing 4 string basses because it feels basic and comfortable. I love playing around on my 6 string because it gives me so much room to create. But I can never fall in love with a 5 string. A lot of people like it because it's a sort of "middle ground," but it always feels a little unnatural to me. It's strange, but I'm not really complaining.

+1! Good to know I'm not the only one like this. :D
