Bongo and Basswood

I remember reading about how the Bongo came about a while back and it was very interesting. I've been searching on the forum but cannot seem to find that original thread where BP discussed some of the details behind the origin of the Bongo and the tests with BMW etc.

I was curious about how they decided to use Basswood exclusively, I don't recall if anything was said in that original thread but I was hoping for some interesting results from testing different types of bodies. I do recall hearing about the idea of a fully recycled body that was eventually scrapped in favor of Basswood.

Cool, thanks for that link.
It does indeed give some insight into the efforts that BP uses before making those decisions. I was curious to see if he ever noticed any significant difference between the body wood issues, like some test runs between different "contenders".
