Dumb question - I'm considering buying a used Bongo locally - but it only comes with a gigbag. Might want to invest in a case. Where can I buy a MM Bongo hardshell case?

Yes the dealer locator page rocks. It tells you what inventory each store has and so far I've found it to be correct. It has saved me alot of fuel so far in my quest for a HH Sterling. I still have to drive 25 miles to get it though.

Did it fit a Bongo really well?

Bongos are longer than your average bass. EBMM had to revise the cases to fit.

I've got a full ATA that's cut to fit a Stingray, and the Bongo fits perfectly. I've also got a few Hiscox cases (the best lightweight moulded aftermarket cases available in my opinion) and the Bongo fits as if it was custom fitted.

Is this normal? Why do some sites I've seen say right up front that it "MUSIC MAN HARDSHELL CASE INCLUDED" though the price isn't any higher, yet other sites are "Gig bag or Hardshell case NOT included".

Just for the record, do all the Stingrays come with hardshell cases? Is the Bongo different to where the dealers can choose to include a case or not?

Nowadays all EBMM come with a HS case. Used to Be tere wasn't one fitting the bongo, so eary bongos often sold in G&G cases (huuuuuge ones, ask Bovinehost).

Ah, so if you're getting something new it will have the hardshell case. I guess the site I was looking at just had old information up...which it's been known to do, though they're still great people.

Thanks!

If I recall correctly, BP has stated here that every bongo, sterling, and SR shipped from the factory comes in a case now. What the dealer does with them would tell me where I'm shopping.

It used to be the bongos did not come from the factory with a case but that was changed awhile back. To summarize:

1. A proper case can be ordered thru your favourite EBMM dealer.
2. Bongo4's have been found to fit several aftermarket cases and gig bags
3. Not many aftermarket cases will fit the Bongo5's. Ditto for gig bags. G&G makes a HSC but it is a boat anchor. Although it has the whole old school vibe going for it.

I have a Bongo 5 and a cheap Ritter hardshell case. it JUST fits. When I say JUST, I mean if I don't take the strap off (with attached Schallers), it won't fit.
