So a Bongo arrives at my home yesterday and my 10 year old guitar-player son checks it out. Mind you, he's been playing since Christmas, we don't do MTV, and his exposure to "what a bass guitar is suppose to look like" is limited, at best.

Dad, that's cool! I like the horn and the way the two halves of the body come together.
He further commented positively on the shape and design of the headstock and the pick-guard. Then he asks the BIG question...

Do they make a guitar like that!? If they do, that's the guitar I want!"
There is a purity and honesty in children that cannot be understated.

If I had a son, I'd line his room with Bongo wallpaper.

PS If they ever made a bongo guitar, I think I'd cry....

I bet it would be easier for him to get a gig at Guitar Center if he was playing with Big Poppa

I have a nearly four year old named Jeremy and by the time he was two, he could recognize Bongos.

He couldn't tell you the difference between a Jazz and a Roscoe, nor would he care to know, but Bongos?

Always been his favorite bass!

He likes Stingrays, too.

My dad bought me my first bass when I was four. Get him started young, but I'm sure you will. When I have a son will know by far that Bongos are superior, and will sleep with them at night. Ah, what will happen if I have a daughter who likes barbies not guitars?

Perhaps we could, though I was thinking a bit bigger than simply GC...

I'm thinking more along the lines of Marketing or Sales executive... ;)

I think Thoreau said it best when he wrote:

"I have always been regretting that I was not as wise as the day I was born."
