Steve Marshall bassist for the Kenny Chesney Band has in his words "perma-smile" over his new Bongo 5 black 2h with a blackpearl pickguard. He is totally blown away.

We went to see the show in Vegas and I met him backstage and he said, " I love my SR5, I don't get the Bongo" "Its kinda funny looking" Brian and I double teamed him and he said "maybe I should try it"......

He is hooked.......Bongo fever Catch it!

Steve Marshall was my inspiratin to get an SR 5. He is one good bassist and keeps it right there sounding like a SR5 should . He is so camera shy however the Bongo won't get much view time in a video.

Here is one of the few pics to be had of him. I got this off a Chesney band fan site.

I am not sure on the cabs. I do have to wonder if he didn't get his style of slinging the bass from old lord bongo? Maybe I need to be shortening my strap a bit. Must help the chops

I strap my basses fairly high as well. For me, it's about keeping the forearm/wrist of my fretting hand as straight as possible.

Not to hijack BP's news but here is the other SR5 player that he should pitch the bongo too. Doesn't this make the SR 5 look good?

Boyeeeee!

BTW, I see someones' wrist resting on the body. I read that ain't good if you wanna avoid poor blood flow & cramp.

Whatever works for you, though...

I've heard the same thing. But then I've also heard that's BS... Perhaps if I was firmly pressing my forearm into my bass it would be different?

I have carpel tunnel and I really notice it when I get the bass too low. However I don't believe I am playing it quite as high above the belt as Bovine does. I will have to get a pic some time taken when I am playing and see how it compares. I do know I can play 5 hours of gig without the carpel bothering me from either hand.

BTW it will be awesome to see Steve Marshall perform with a Bongo.

Steve Marshall. What a fine bassist. I love his work with Kenny Chesney, and cant wait to see him in action with a Bongo.
