this band is literally the soundtrack to my jr high / highschool days. especially the days i didnt quite make it all the way to school. fear not bp, live nation is collapsing faster than jackson at 2 for 1 martini night. they have actually monopolized and gouged themselves right out of business. once they have sold off all the radio stations and venues, good solid tight bands like the news can fly high once again. when i was a kid, you could go to any concert for $20-30. now its $200 plus $1500 parking and $75 soda. i love this music. america loves this music. they just cant afford it. i personally think some of our elected officials need to be thrown in prison for allowing one company to own all the radio stations, all the venues, and the only production company. they could not have pulled that off without inside help, or at the very least, getting the rest of dc to look the other way while they consumed an entire industry. thank god its greed has become cancerous, and is now bringing it to its knees. unfortunately, all we can do is wait for the rats to jump ship, and like one of my other fav american musicians says "the waiting is the hardest part".

Huey and John were both very gracious to my extreme hackness at CLB. John played a Bongo 4H that night, and his palm muted bassline to "I Want a New Drug" nailed you right in the forehead while still sitting perfectly in the mix. Huey Lewis and the News has been one of my all-time favorite bands since I was about 9 years old. God bless 'em. "Okay, Sterling, here come the HITS!" :)

Huey Lewis and The News have a new album called 'Soulsville,' it will be available on November 2. Can't wait as it's their first album in nine years

Saw Huey and the News a few times at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz. IIRC just after their first album. Last time I saw them, was at the L.A. county fair before leaving So. Cal for good. They sounded even better live than on disc; still one of my favorite bands ever.

John Pierce played Bass in our Band in the 1970's! He was Great then playing with Mike Landau, Steve Lukather, William Olvis, Mick Jagger, the Pocaros and the list goes on! He really like Progressive Jazz Rock Fusion, and was a pretty goood singer! Many Amazing Musicians came out of the San Fernando Valley in the 60's & 70's!
