so i've owned my bongo for about 4 months now and i'm every bit as in love with it as i was when i bought it but i've been wondering if some people have noticed what i've noticed. Lately, around the 3rd month i noticed that the neck was moving a little more than it did when i first bought it and the intonation has been a little funny. The bass has been adjusted twice since the end of November. Now i know this isn't that weird. Where i live the season are still changing and ocasionally a set of strings isn't as good as others. But i was just wondering if anyone else had noticed the same thing? Drop me a line and come here my bongo and a couple fenders on my page! www.myspace.com/manoutoftime . Peace

wow thanks for the info, I hadn't thought of that. There's always that "getting to know you" period about a fairly new piece of gear. Still working on it. Thanks for the hello. I've been meaning to get back to this site. MM players are so loyal. I cant deny my fender half though. Bass to me will always in part me Fender Precision.

Now i know this isn't that weird.

Probably not weird at all. I lived along the Central Coast and remember how damp and clammy and perfectly wonderful was life there, but the extreme humidity will make wood do things, and that is probably exactly what is going on.

I'd say....well, are you doing your own setups and adjustments? That sure makes life a lot easier, plus you gain quite useful insight into what your bass is doing and why.

I really don't think this merits a call to customer service but hey, that's what they are there for and they love it when the phone rings.

I've still got a soft spot for P-Basses, but I just can't bring myself to spending the money there anymore...spoiled (I guess).

BTW, you're just a few miles from me and Phatduckk...drinks sometime soon?

I suspect this is the culprit. When I lived in Sonoma County for 8 years I was constantly having to adjust my necks, especially this time of year.

thanks for the info Steve, i've been quite spoiled by my fenders. I have four of the same 80's model and there like bullet proof. i've lived here 3 years almost any never really had any trouble. I think it might have something to do with their maple neck maple fingerboard config. God i love the bongo though. I have to concentrate of practicing with the Fenders from time to time, or else they never leave the cases.
