FYI not sure if it's rare of not but I still have no signs of GAS due to the bongo delivering on every level I need as a top 40/corporate act.

While I have gas for a ton of other basses (Big Al, Game Changer, etc) - I find myself still deeply drawn to my Bongos. They are the best constructed, sounding, and looking instruments that I have come across. While they aren't for everyone, they are indeed special and make everyone (except Jack) look a tad bit better.

I am so impressed with this bass. I have done some wood carving using bass wood. I was concerned that a bass made of bass wood would be light and easily damaged, due to the fact that I have worked with bass wood and how easily it is cut and carved. I am impressed at the weight and style of the bass. One of the reasons bass wood is used in carving is for it ability to hold small details that can be carved in it and how it will hold those small details. This is clearly evident in the subtle lines of the Bongo. I think it is a beautiful, and unique design. And as oddjob has said, maybe not for everybody.
