I haven’t had a Bongo now for a good two years and am jonesing for a new one. All of mine had a satin neck and headstock finish. EBMM’s spec sheet indicates the Aqua and Fuchsia Sparkle ones have a gloss neck and headstock. Does anyone know is this is indeed the case? Anyone try both a gloss and satin neck that could provide an opinion on it? Thanks!

Satin will eventually become gloss from playing it. At least the stealth models I owned did.

The neck on mine is satin, feels and plays nice but I don’t know how long it will last with use before it rubs its self smooth.
The Sparkle finishes it would make sense that they are gloss from the beginning with the nature of the paint finish

Thanks all. I typically prefer a satin neck finish must man, the Aqua Sparkle finish is really growing on me.

Same here, lacquered neck for me is a deal breaker. I get around the older Bongo4 with a scotch pad, rough the finish up now and again, usually pre gig, it soon goes smooth again with use.
Any other bass and I’d remove it completely in favour of oil and wax every time.
