I have a nut for a 5 string Bongo coming from EBMM. Does anyone know if the string slots are already cut, or if it is blank? The person I ordered it from did not know. Thanks.

The slots are already there, but you will need to file them down once the nut is in place.

Sounds good so far... will this allow a small amount of lateral movment (say in comparison to the original nut?) I'm not doing the work myself, but need to supervise! Thanks.

I'll take that as a no. Guess I'll find out in a couple of days.

A bone nut is being installed on the Bongo now. The luthier could have worked with the stock nut, but I wanted to forego filling the slot with super glue and hardener etc. EBMM did offer to see the bass, but I decided to not send it across country. I'll post pics when I get it back. :)

Probably if I have action related problems I'm guessing. I would hope that if the preamp decides to self destruct, that would be covered.
