Sometimes we need a "Cleaning".

- Dial all the EQs to zero. What you hear are the sounds that you can not change
- Dial in as much low bass as you want.
- Play bass with records (CDs?) for a while
- pan the pickups and repeat the above
- Decide what upper freq you want and add
- play with records for a while
- work with the pan on the pickups
- make final adjustmetns

Do not adjust anything for a week and start again - but this time from where you finished the first time. Work from the lows to the highs

I usually twist the blend knob so that it is half way between the neck and middle positions - with a bit of piezo. Whack some bass and hi-mids up and you have the most aggressive powerful tone in the world!
