Question Bongo Pickups

I'm loving the way my Bongo 6 HH sounds, but I was wondering... and don't kill me for asking this... if it would be possible to lets say, split the neck humbucker into a single?

Before even considering doing it, I wanted to know what all would be involved. Would it be as simple as a regular guitar EMG or DiMarzio, or is the pickup hardwired?

Would I even like the results of the single not having the phantom coil underneath?

Bongo pickups are wired internally in parallel, so it would take significant rewiring of the pickup. I love the sound of HS Bongo pickups but the neck pickup isn't just half of a humbucker.
