Just got my 5 string - pics will come soon in another thread. Do I have to even say I'M IN LOVE, again... anyway - I can clearly see that this bass is capable of a lot more than my non-piezo 4 string. But I'm fiddlin with it now for about 20 minutes and I can't figure out what the hell I'm doing.

I got the back knobs down, same as on the non piezo. I know which one the volume control is  but, number 2. My best guess so far is that the little knob is the pickup blend, and the larger the piezo, but I'm not sure??? I also don't understand how the piezo is actually dialed in. What happens from 0 to 10. Is 0 no piezo, 5 piezo and magnetic, 10 all piezo?

HELP PLEASE! I plan to break it in at tonight's show.

Go here:

The controls are, from front to back:

Volume

Stacked piezo/magnetic blend and neck/bridge magnetic blend. The small knob is the piezo. Turn it all the way counterclockwise ("turn it down") and you get all-piezo. All the way clockwise, you get only the magnetic pickups.

The lager knob gives you only the bridge magnetic pickup if you turn it all the way counterclockwise, and only the neck pickup if you turn it clockwise.

Next come stacked hi mid/lo mid. The small knob is hi mid. The big knob is lo mid.

Last comes stacked bass/treble. The small knob is treble. The big knob is bass.

Congrats JN :)

Just picked up my Bongo Fretless 4HHP today and took me a little bit to figure out the Piezo. I like the extra ambiance it adds to the tone. I am using just a little bit of Piezo (between mid point and mags only) and love the sound I am getting.

Hope you enjoy your Piezo tonight :)
