Hi Everyone,

I've been corresponding with a Music Man aficionado in the UK who also is quite an accomplished poet. I requested that, since he does own, play and love a Bongo, that he write an ode to Bongo. He came through! And here, I present to you Bongo lovers, Mr. Louis Casson, Muse of Bongos:

Bongo.
(My bass guitar by Musicman)

Elements:
Headstock like Picasso meets renaissance lute,
Body Egyptian barque in bas relief.
Colour as smoke from Bedouin fires,
Compensated nut to help notes ring as lyres.

Fretboard:
Inlays as crescent moons,
To help me play and reach the stars.
Lightly oiled silken touch wood,
Softly glistens as chocolate bars.

Case:
Open lingering scent of new and babies.
Crushed velvet as nights wonders nestle gently,
The new arrival to this modern magi’s gaze.

Experience:
Oh wonder! The feel so right, as player and instrument cease their fight.
Instead the Bongo speaks to the musician soft and low;
‘This is the secret, tell me where and we will go.
Single notes; or double stops with taps, with trills to thrill the gamut high and low,
Explore within worlds of myself,
For playing is believing this we know’.

If anyone would like to contact Louis, I know that he just registered on the forum, but he can be reached by e-mail (and takes requests! :) ) [email protected]

Enjoy!

Very cool!

T'was a core group of funky bass players
When they found such a groove they were slayers
The Bongo was choice
to give face to their voice
and they silenced the picky nay-sayers!

Sorry, I never advanced past the limerick! :)

Mid's cutting through...
like the fangs of a tiger....
tone so distinct...
it marvels the legend of the Liger....
beauty so often...
is in the eye of the beholder....
and that phrase rings true.....
with lows that are bolder...
back of the venue...
hearts start pumping...
overwhelming the guitarist...
he actually hears your bass thumping...
so i take a step back and leave you with this...
The Bongo baby...
a bass players bliss...

Body designed by BMW
With enough curves and angles to trouble you
We Stingray players have nothing to fear
As we stand proud with the instruments we hold near and dear
There is this bravado we try to avoid
Coming from the player known as "The Bongoloid"

Ack Ack Ack ;)

Hey! T-Bone Tim!

Bongo rocks the house
Your Stingray sounds like a mouse
Eighteen volts right here

:D

Sorry, babe, couldn't resist your "Stingray Challenge."
