This is the end of one of those long days of playing two FABULOUS basses in which I must give thanks to Sterling Ball and Dudley Gimpel. Without them, the MusicMan Bongo would not have come about; and I would not have the bass that helps make me into the player that I am. I love Big Poppa, Dudley and all the Balls. Thank you guys so much. I owe you more than I could ever repay, and I'm your guy. Always.

I am speaking of my Bongo 4HH and 5HH, which always float to the top of my excellent bass heap. The sound in these basses is always better than what I'm expecting. And man, how they do play.

I'm with you, Ben.

I sometimes promise myself that I will bring "just" the Reflex or the Big Al 5H....and I do bring them, but not "just" them. The Bongo is my security blanket. If everything else goes to hell, I know I'll be okay.

My plan this Friday (you coming, Ben?) is to bring the Big Al 5H and the SBMM Ray34ca - I sometimes feel like I need to be adventurous - but in the end, I know I'll chicken out and one will end up being left behind for a Bongo.

I suspect I will be there with bells upon my person. At least I'm really hoping that's what happens.
