I was rehearsing with the new Bongo 5 HS last week, and everyone noticed when swapping from that to the Bongo 4HS, that the 4 is noticeably quieter than the 5.

Both have identical sets of strings (30-90s) with a .115 on the bottom of the 5, and I set the pickup heights of the 5 to match that of the 4 as they were all over the place when it arrived.

Both have batteries that are around 9v.

Both had the preamp set flat, pickup balance in the middle, vol on full (yes, I am aware of previous threads about that ;) )

So those with multiple Bongos might be able to confirm that this is not unusual - I don't recall what the last 5 I had was like, as it was quite a while ago.

This isn't a problem, so no need for a CS enquiry, just something I'm curious about.

My HS is a little louder than my HH.

There is no problem with the vol on full, apart from the signal being somewhat strong, which means some preamps and other equipment may have issues. And the bass will sound the same with the vol rolled off somewhat, just a bit quieter.
