I was searching for video of Johnny A, on my favorite guitar players, doing his version of "Wichita Lineman", and behold, a Bongo appeared! Great tone anchoring a trio, full and deep, leaving a lot space for the haunting melody to ring out.

Thought I'd share it. Maybe someone on the forum knows some details on the player?

Thanks, guys, I had missed that thread somehow. I've been a Johnny A fan for some time, good to see him and his band getting some love out there.

Great clip. I also took the time to watch Glen Campbell's clips from his 2001 PBS concert filmed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota which is a city that I played in when I was on the road. This concert features a full orchestra and is a fabulous show both musically and vocally; Campbell is an amazing guitarist and singer. Many people may not know that "back in the day" he was a first call top notch session guitar player who played with The Beach Boys in the recording studio among many others. The man can play the guitar!

Great music makes Johnny A and his band!

Do I see well, or Jessie plays here another Bongo, is this fretless one?

P.S. ...another video is to "brutal" to me :D but sounds good, all guys play well, especially the drummer! This Bongo tone at the beginning kicks an ass! :p

Colin Edwin of Porcupine Tree is a phantastic player. Musical, versatile, tasty with a great sound coming from his fingers. The earlier PT albums, especially Metanoia and the rare Moonloop are some of my favorite music... sports some incredible fretless playing in a progressive rock setting.

Check it out!

Glenn played on Pet Sounds, good enough for me!

Steve Lukather and Glen Campbell jamming

That was too cool. Two of the best guitar players ever jamming!
My bandleader/guitar player told me that Campbell also played bass in the studio with The Beach Boys!
