I have a question/sugestion to the bongo bass. It will be killer if EBMM can build the Bongo neck in a natural finish (that way they can have a maple fretboard) I know EBMM uses solid colors for Bongo cause they use Basswood on the body, but they use maple neck so they can have a natural finish, hope they do that some time.
When was the first year of production for Bongo basses?
I'm expecting my 6 string Bongo, I order it at BassCentral (great store!!!)

Welcome.

I believe that the Bongo was first released in 2003.

The maple neck/natural finish subject has been discussed at length. If you do a search, you should be able to come up with something.

as mynan said: this has been discussed quite a few times and the word from the folks at the factory is that theyre happy the way it is.

its possible that a BFR may pop up with a maple board & netural neck but I wouldnt hold my breathe.
