Here's my new wooden pickguard made by George Varkoly over at www.woodguarden.com. What do you think? Kinda snazzy, huh? There's some more photos of it at http://photobucket.com/albums/y254/FreddyG02/

Thanks guys. I sent the original White Ice pickguard to him so he could trace the outlines perfectly. Not an easy task, with two p'up cutouts, a neck cutout, and the screw holes. Worth the wait though.

Jason, no problem. I can meet up with you sometime. Actually, I'm gonna try to come out and see your band in the near future. I can show it to you then.

how much did this cost ya. i would like one for my stingray

It was $25, and that included shipping cost. That's a great price for a handmade, one-of-a-kind wooden pickguard, don't you think? My Bongo was the first he had made a pickguard for, so I sent the original p/g to him so he could get the exact tracing. But he has already done StingRays, so you won't have to do that.

Does he have an email address - I cannot find one on the website....

I suppose I first emailed him through his order form, which is located under the link "Online Ordering". He then emailed me back. You don't have to pay him in advance, so this procedure works fine.

My friend just bought an Autumn Red (I think) 3 band stingray with that kind of pickup. He says he didn't know where it came from, but now I know. Thanks Freddy, it looks great with the Lava Pearl!

Hello FireAarro. The Bongo is actually the Desert Gold color. The pickguard is what George calls Tri-Color Fade.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that other colour name being Lava Pearl. I was just saying it looks like a fiery beast now, in my eyes at least ;).
