I don't know if this has been covered but in the most recent Bass Guitar mag there's a little snippet about how Randy is keen on the Bongo. I saw him backing Mariah Carey wielding a Sapphire Black Bongo 5 HH during the LIVE 8 concert. Funny thing is, he calls it the Sterling Ball Bongo.

I saw Randy playing with Jean-Luc Ponty many years and pounds ago and he just killed.
