I don't necessarily need biamp capabilities so I would bridge with the Eden. I like to use compression sometimes and both have it. They seem comparable as far as features go. The Eden is a little more expensive.

I currently have an SWR Goliath III 4x10 (old style ported out the back) but am looking at upgrading it to maybe a 6x10 (SWR, Mesa Boogie, Eden) so that is likely what I would be using the amp with.

I voted for the mpulse

i had one for about 20 minutes and it blew up ... however it sounded so damn good that i still voted for it.

The semi parametric eq is nice, 2 volumes is nice, compression is nice, regular eq is nice. i loved that head. only reason i dont have one now is that when i returned it the store didnt have any more in stock and i had a gig in a couple days and couldnt wait.

So ... this is good info too:
I blew up the head and called Mesa on a Saturday (they were closed) but they called me on Monday morning before their support hours started. (they called at 7:30am). I'll spare all the details but the fact remained that i blew up one of their amps, they were awesome about it, and even tho i had a bad experience w/ my amp i have 100% confidence in their stuff b/v their support was on top of sh&*

I blew up an M-Pulse 600 at GC-Cincy awhile back. Real nice sound but seemed under powered. The WT is real nice but the sound was kind of squashed (for lack of a better term)... Save a bit mor and get a Mesa Big Block... now that is killer!
Here is the usual disclaimer:
Try them out yourself. Each person has their own idea of what is "good" and "bad" and while it is nice to solicit opinions from everyone you are the one who has to pay for it and live with it (eg. if you like the original Peav TKO sound the hell with what everyone else thinks, go for it - cause you have to play it)

I would personally buy an SVT but...

I have a thing against boogie in that they are bitchy , gripey, un-reliable POS's.

Take the first two posts from people who have experience with these to heart. That was no fluke!

go the WT800 bridged into a 410XLT - don't even need a 6x10...
it's the utlimate rig

Could be flukes... I have had some bad SWR's and 2 bad Ampigs (maybe it's just me). Mesas ARE touchy but once they are dialed they are sweet!!! If I could afford it I would get a Big Block or a 400+ right now (of course I would have to hire someone to help me carry the 400+)

I went with the M-Pulse, partly because I haven't heard a bad Mesa yet, but also because I find the Edens too "clean" sounding for my tastes.

Since GK isn't a choice, i'll vote Eden.My friend had an M-Pulse 600 and had to return it after one gig because it was underpowered.I've played
Eden rigs at shows that were backlined and they've always sounded pretty good to me.

The Eden is best IMO as a squeeky clean hi-fi amp (I play a WT400 btw), the Mesa can get crunchy.

My band played a gig last year with ex-Everclear bass dudes new band and he had a Mesa M-Pulse head (forget which model) and 6X10 cab. Holy cow, that was a MONSTER setup! He uses a variety of sounds, from clean to very heavy distortion and it was loud (really loud!), tight, and fat.

Love my Eden. 800B. amazing amount of headroom, and very clean tone.

Thought I would need two 410's,(to reach volume attained with prior rigs hartke, swr, ampeg) and never need to use more than one, unless it's outdoors. And then it's partly for fun !

WT800B + D410XST = KILLER.
TMO, the XST tone will be nicer than the XLT if you use MM basses and it's also rated at 1000W (XLT is 750 or so).
The newer WT800 (B) is rated at 1100W bridged at 4 Ohms, when the older WT800 can only be bridged at 8 Ohms though.

Lots of solid tone and power.

PS
The compressor is more like a limitter on the Eden, so if you're looking for a good compressor you'll need to use it externally.
