Well, I decided a few months ago I wanted to get another EVH sig but I wasn't completely sure if I wanted to find another mint one or player. Today I just happened to stumble into one of my favorite local shops(empire guitars, guys are great over there and they mainly deal with vintage stuff) and behold, My old friend who used to work at gc informs me they just took in an evh. Without hesitating I told him to grab it so we can get it on layaway lol:D. I would've bought it on the spot but I've bought a few guitars over the past few weeks and I still have another piece to pick up in a few weeks that I've been dabbling with. Anyways, he brings it over and at first glance I was super excited. It was a Sunburst and it's a player at a great price. Plugged it into an EVH head they have and Boom shacka lack, the VH riffs a flowed lol. After my intial excitement subsided I inspected it and to my dismay the bridge pup was not original, I could tell looking at it bc the base plate was white... He went and grabbed the case and guess what was in there?!?! The original pup and it tested to be working. Someone put a nice lindy fralin in it though and it screamed. For a guitar with as much playwear as it has the frets are in amazing shape. It's definitely going to be my beater guitar for sure but looking at what I was going to drop on a mint one I can spend the other half of the money and get a new axis:) The top is a lot nicer in person, Droid never captures tops good

Oddly enough, the only real playwear to the thing was on the back. The top was kept real clean. However once she comes home, if anyone out there in ball land has a replacement Gotoh floyd they want to be rid of and some old evh strapbuttons, Im interested

I might have the strap buttons. Gotta check.

That'd be cool Ozzy! I think the floyd is going to be the hardest part to locate. The one on the guitar is in perfect working order but its pitted and would bother the crap out of me(part of my ocd) I should have it home in 2 weeks so I have a little time.

Hey did you land this guitar??? And by any chance is the serial # 80850???
If so it's the guitar I've been searching for, for about 11years. I'd pay you more than you payed for it.

I don't know if he ever got this guitar but I don't remember a thread where he posted about picking it up. Judging by posts around that time I think the serial for this guitar was probably 84629.
