I just bought a used Sting Ray5 with S/N 53466. Can you tell me when it was born ? Thanks.

If you look at the following sequence of serial numbers....
50444...Feb 1989
50641...Mar 1989
50738...May 1989
51080...Apl 1990. Natural.
51393...Sep 1989. Blue with Rosewood.
51532...May 1990. Natural.
52165...May 1992
55066...Jul 1994.
You'll see that your bass, if there was logic used when numbering these basses, was built....well, my guess would be 1993.

Hey Bovine, thanks for the info. I kinda figured it to be around that date but was hoping for the exact date from the moderator.
By the way, that orange MM you have rocks.
